What is terrycloth?

What material is terry cloth?
Bath fabric usually consists of 100% cotton or a cotton blend with other materials, such as polyester. These synthetic fibers are added to strengthen the fabric or improve longevity. During production, a special loom that loops is used. As the fabric is woven, additional threads are inserted that are pulled up to form loops. This is the secret behind its excellent absorbent properties and ‘cuddly’ appearance.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of terry cloth?
The use of terry cloth in men's clothing is all about comfort and functionality. Terry fabric is soft on the skin and can absorb moisture well. This makes it suitable for clothing and accessories related to sports and leisure. Moreover, it has a casual and comfortable look. One drawback, however, is that terry cloth becomes heavier as it absorbs moisture. To maintain its quality, it is not wise to use fabric softener or wash it together with garments that have zippers or velcro.
